The Ultimate Hacker
Written by Kim LaCoste

By now, I'm sure you've read about the hacking of various companies, federal and non-federal alike. There is another type of hacking. This kind isn't carried out by machines; that is, machines do aid this hacker's motives, but he works in another realm: a person's mind and heart. The ultimate hacker I'm talking about is satan.  He works 24 hours a day, doing whatever he can to penetrate one's thoughts.  If he's successful with planting his seeds of deception, then it's only a matter of time before he gets the mind and body to do his bidding.

He's very slick, too; so slick that he can find a way to hack into people, whether it's in a church, your home, at your job or somewhere in public.  For example, you might say hello to someone, who may extend a short, hand wave, as if to say, "You're not so important, but hello, anyway" (or  may not return the salutation at all).  The person passes by you, only to be "all smiles and giggles" with someone else. Did satan hack the person you spoke to? Yes, because he got the person to treat you with insolence. He works overtly, or he may use a subtle process and work on you for days, months or years - if you let him hack in and remain in you. Another method of his is using the mistakes of one's past, to make people constantly berate themselves.  Instead of seeking the Lord, they seek alternatives, such as alcohol, drugs, overeating, extramarital affairs or worse, engaging in violent/criminal behavior.

It drives satan crazy when people seek the Lord through His Word or through prayer.  When that happens, the Lord hears and embraces you. In time, He helps you to find ways to improve your condition, whether it's financial, physical or spiritual, but you have to call on Him.  Contrary to all of the negative press on the internet about how God "makes demands, blah, blah, blah", He gives us the choice whether or not we want to follow Him.  This is the "loophole" satan enjoys most.  If we didn't have a choice, he'd have no power to do anything to us.  Anyone in his/her right mind would be obedient to God - period - but it will have been a love for Him out of fear...  God knew such love could never last, so He gave us the freedom of choice.

Unfortunately, many people today are taking God's love for granted. It's as if they operate with the mindset, "Jesus died for us, so we have a spiritual 'carte blanche'."  Humans are doing whatever they want, without any care or concern for repentance. They figure all they have to do is hold up their arms in the end and say "Oh, forgive me, Lord" and everything will be cool. That's the Hollywood version, a by-product of the ultimate hacker's years of feeding false truths and philosophies to mankind.  Pray for people; we need each other's prayers more than we realize...  I see the world today and I think of Noah. God gave him the warning and Noah heeded it, saving himself and his family. Satan couldn't hack Noah because his relationship with God was too strong.

If you want to fight the ultimate spiritual hacker, put on the ultimate spiritual firewall: Jesus Christ. The Bible says it best: "Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil."  (Ephesians 6:11, KJV)
